Julius J. Huebner, M.D. graduated from the Integrated Premedical-Medical Program at the University of Michigan Medical School. He completed a surgical internship at the University of Michigan Hospitals, and an Orthopaedic Surgical residency at the University of Michigan Hospitals in 1988. Dr. Huebner practiced in a subspecialty focused orthopaedic group in Ann Arbor, Michigan upon completing his residency. While in Michigan, Dr. Huebner specialized in primary and revision hip and knee replacement, and cared for patients referred from southeastern Michigan and northern Ohio. He also participated in the education of University of Michigan Orthopaedic Surgery residents. Dr. Huebner's opinion was often sought by other orthopaedists for difficult or complicated cases.

Dr. Huebner joined Allegheny Orghopaedic Associates upon relocating to Pittsburgh for family reasons in 2002. He has re-established a referral practice specializing in primary and revision hip and knee replacement. He has a particular interest in total hip replacement for the high-demand, younger patient, as well as minimal incision hip replacement. He frequently treats patients referred from other otrhopaedists with complex problems such as prosthetic joint infection, peri-prosthetic fracture, developmental deformities, and prosthetic joint instability. His attention to detail is appreciated by his patients and colleagues, as is his interest in multi-modal analgesia for post-operative pain control.

Dr. Huebner was initially certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery in 1990, and was recertified in 2000 and 2008 (through 2020). He continues to be actively involved with education of orthopaedic surgery residents, and is the faculty mentor for the Chief Resident Service. He is an Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at Drexel Universiy School of Medicine. He currently sees patients at the northside Pittsburgh and Monroeville offices, and performs surgery at Allegheny General Hospital and the Western Pennsylvania Hospital-Forbes Regional Campus.
