Dedicated to treating athletic injuries to the musculoskeletal system, with a special focus on shoulder, elbow, and knee injuries, the Sports Medicine and Shoulder Service is one of the largest and well-respected divisions at Allegheny General Hospital. Our fellowship trained surgeons and primary care specialists are experts in the field and employ the latest non-operative and operative treatments allowing for restoration of function and return to competition or work.
Our surgical procedures and non-invasive techniques are continually evolving based on physician research and experience. This experience is not only passed on to the professional athlete, but to all patients that require orthopaedic care.
In conjunction with the Sports Medicine and Shoulder Service, AGH's therapists and athletic trainers currently provide the care for The Pittsburgh Pirates Baseball Club, The Pittsburgh Riverhounds Soccer Club, Slippery Rock University, Community College of Allegheny County and numerous local area high schools.
